Yurai Onsen is a famous hot spring that gushes out into the mountains of the Chugoku Mountains and is also called the back parlor of Hiroshima. It is said that 1,500 years ago, villagers saw a white egret damaged by the banks of a mountain stream healing wounds and discovered the source. During the Keicho period (1596-1615), it was bustling as geiyo's only hot spring resort. It has been called "Yu-no-Sato" since ancient times, and in 1950 (Showa 25) the hot spring was opened due to new development and was named "Hiroshima Yurai Onsen". It boasts one of the best radon content in Japan, and the quality of the spring is simply weakly radioactive hot springs.
